To the wonderful Ormiston State School Community
As we come to the close of another busy and rewarding term, I want to take a moment to reflect on the wonderful efforts of our students and staff.
Our students have shown such commitment to their learning this term. They have embraced challenges, celebrated successes, and made the most of the many opportunities provided to explore their passions. Whether in the classroom, on the sports field, in the arts, or through leadership and service, our students have represented Ormiston State School with pride and enthusiasm.
I would also like to acknowledge Ms Trina, our Head of Special Education Services, who will be leaving us this Friday to take up an exciting new role with regional office. Ms Trina has contributed greatly to our school, and we thank her sincerely for her leadership and dedication. She has written a personal message to our school community which you will find in this week’s news update. We wish her every success in this new opportunity.
Yesterday, marked the final day of the career of Cathy Commadeur. Cathy has been a teacher aide at this school for 25 years. Her dedication has resulted in many students receiving the extra support required to be successful at school. Cathy has also been a great mentor to other staff who are always seeking her guidance and assurance. We wish Cathy the very best in her retirement.
A special thank you also goes to our staff. Each and every day, they go above and beyond to support every child. It is more than just a job—it is a genuine commitment to helping students grow and succeed. They are truly amazing, and I feel privileged to work alongside them.
To our families, I hope you enjoy a wonderful break. For those travelling, I wish you safe journeys, and for everyone, I hope you find time to rest and recharge. Term 4 will begin on Tuesday, 7 October, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for another exciting term of learning and achievement.
Kind regards,
John Bray
Principal
Farewell from our Head of Inclusion
Dear Ormiston State School Community,
I’d like to share some news with you all. I have recently been appointed to a different role with the Department’s regional office. I have been quite conflicted with this decision as I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here at Ormiston State School. Working alongside such a dedicated and passionate team has been both rewarding and inspiring, and it is not easy to step away from such a wonderful school community.
I have enjoyed getting to know you and your children and I will truly miss this amazing inclusive school and community environment, and I know that I have been lucky to have spent this small amount of time here. I wish everyone an amazing term ahead and I look forward to hearing about how well students are going.
Thank you again for your support and collaboration. It has been a privilege to be part of the Ormiston State School community.
Warm regards,
Trina Crew
Head of Inclusion

The Ormiston SS Choirs and Bands have had a very busy term competing at the Redlands Eisteddfod and performing at School Assemblies.
If you have borrowed a Music Performance Shirt from Mrs Gordon for any of these events, please would you return the shirt to Mrs Gordon or hand it in to the office ASAP, by the end of the week.
Thank you
Kind regards,
